Joaquin and Livia continue their journey towards California, but Trafficante's men are on their heels. The friends of Sean also turn out to be a problem. I liked this book a lot. The plot is tight, and the level of suspense is consistently high. Once you start reading it's hard to stop. It's a classic story of cat-and-mouse, and it's executed very well. My only complaint would be with the main characters. Joaquin is stoic and reserved, while Livia feels a bit cold and kind of like an empty...
